Leap to the New Stage with Hong Kong
Give our city more smiles and innovation as a trusted DX leader
60 years is a remarkable journey! For 6 decades, FUJIFILM BI HK has navigated through multiple transformations. We have been thriving alongside Hong Kong based on three main characters: visionary, trusted, and evolving.
Starting as a pioneer in printing technology, we revolutionized copiers and production press systems for the local printing industry. Embracing the digital age, we have introduced Smart Workstyle to empower digital transformation (DX). Looking ahead, we will continue to evolve and dedicate our growth to driving innovation for businesses in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.
A mission to drive growth motivates us to be visionary. Always on the lookout for cutting-edge technologies, we started investing in automation, low-code platforms, and RPA technologies over 10 years ago. As new challenges and opportunities keep arising, we remain committed to supporting our customers to stay ahead of the game.
Trust is the foundation of all businesses in the digital era. With the rise of cyberthreats, we are securing DX initiatives via AI-driven Managed Security Services that backed up by our SOC and solid experience in data security since decades ago. We also value the long-term relationships with our customers and pledge to support their DX visions side-by-side as a band of brothers.
To commemorate these milestones, we organized a series of celebration events focusing on “Leap to the New Stage.” At the grand finale, honorable guests and over 100 industry leaders joined us to celebrate with the traditional Japanese sake barrel-breaking ceremony. They also witnessed our commitment to giving Hong Kong more smiles with visionary, trusted, and evolving DX leadership.
“The use of A.I. and big data among Hong Kong businesses inspires many business leaders in Japan and worldwide. As Fujifilm Group celebrates its 90th Anniversary, we are also motivated to enhance our range of innovative products and services, helping businesses leap to a new stage, giving our world more smiles.”
Naoki Hama, President, Representative Director & CEO, FUJIFILM Business Innovation Corp
“We are pleased to see that FUJIFILM BI HK has been committed to promoting digital transformation over the past 60 years since its establishment in Hong Kong, and has organized and supported a number of innovation and technology (I&T) events to promote the development of the I&T industry. The HKSAR Government has also been supporting and promoting Hong Kong's digital transformation with the aim of fostering the development of digital economy and enhancing the competitiveness of local enterprises. We look forward to working together with the community to promote the development of digital economy, accelerate the digital transformation of enterprises, and realize the vision of building a smart city in Hong Kong.”
Lillian Cheong, JP, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry Bureau, Hong Kong SAR Government
“It is amazing to see FUJIFILM BI HK has gone through many innovation cycles over the last 60 years. One of these technology trends is cybersecurity, which is also a focus at the LegCo. With the commencement of industry consultation and the introduction of the Protection of Critical Infrastructure (Computer System) Bill into the LegCo later this year, we hope to help more local CIOs fulfill their obligations in cybersecurity and businesses defend against cyberattacks.”
Hon Duncan Chiu, HKSAR Legislative Council Member (Technology & Innovation Constituency)
“Hong Kong and Japan have had close ties in business, technology, and tourism development for many years. Japan has extensive experience successfully commercializing technologies. We hope that through our collaboration, we can learn from their success and raise Hong Kong’s gross domestic expenditure on research and development.”
Dr. Sunny Chai, SBS, BBS, JP, Chairman, Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation
“Visionary, trusted, and evolving have been our characteristics as the trusted DX partner for Hong Kong businesses. Our vision is to drive A.I. inclusion and cybersecurity inclusion, allowing large enterprises to expand their footprint and supporting SMEs to achieve digital growth at a lower cost. Looking forward, we will continue to explore the latest technologies and capture new opportunities to drive the growth of the Greater Bay Area’s digital economy.”

Highlights of Panel Discussion: The Next Leap in A.I. and Cybersecurity
The macro and micro views on cutting-edge technologies adoption
Hong Kong businesses are excited about A.I. Last year, a Hong Kong Productivity Council survey indicated that 50% of local enterprises are expected to integrate A.I. tools in their operations within 2024. However, the same survey also showed that our overall digitalization index remained “Basic”, the second of the four-level maturity index.
While A.I. is exciting, the conversations often revolve around using the technology to solve specific operational problems, leading to a lack of a comprehensive transformation strategy. To fully capture the value of A.I., transformation should always start with addressing business problems.
Identifying and prioritizing the right business problem is not easy. Leaders need to have a vision of the transformed operations, a growing mindset of the organizations, and a trusted technology ecosystem, including risk management - in other words, a micro and macro view of the business.
To delve into various business dilemmas best tackled with A.I., we have convened an exceptional panel of speakers. They represent different areas of the local political, technology, and business sectors, bringing us both a micro and macro view.
(From left to right) Norris Chan, Sales Director of FUJIFILM BI HK (Moderator), Lewis Fung, Managing Director of Asia Business Group, SenseTime Hong Kong, Otto Lee, Head of Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre, Hon Duncan Chiu, HKSAR Legislative Council Member (Technology & Innovation Constituency), Steve Chuang, Chairman of Federation of Hong Kong Industries, and Francis Fong, Honorary President of Hong Kong Information Technology Federation, offered invaluable perspectives to help businesses navigate opportunities and threats in today's digital landscape.
"A.I. and blockchain will be the driving forces for the digital economy in the next 20 years. The government is currently working on consultation and legislation of these technologies, aiming to empower their development and ensure the public and businesses to adopt them confidently." Hon Duncan Chiu, HKSAR Legislative Council Member (Technology & Innovation Constituency) |
“The world has entered the era of ‘Industry 5.0’, where A.I. is the key to enhancing productivity and quality assurance. However, cyberattacks have the potential to cripple an entire production line. It is imperative for enterprises to strengthen their cybersecurity strategies.” Steve Chuang, Chairman of Federation of Hong Kong Industries |
“Many businesses may have security and privacy concerns when operating innovative technologies like A.I. over public cloud platform. On-premise is becoming a popular solution for enterprises, giving them the much-needed assurance. It is expected to become a major trend in the future for adopting A.I.” Lewis Fung, Managing Director of Asia Business Group, SenseTime Hong Kong |
"I understand that establishing an in-house data center requires significant resources. Therefore, one-stop managed security services can definitely help businesses in Hong Kong." Otto Lee, Head of Hong Kong Computer Emergency Response Team Coordination Centre |
"A.I. technology has been widely adopted and will continue to integrate into our daily lives in the future. Nevertheless, technology is not always right, and humans will never be replaced. We will always need humans to check facts and drive innovation." Francis Fong, Honorary President of Hong Kong Information Technology Federation |
