How is the image of the original document scanned?

The image is scanned by irradiating white light onto the original document and guiding the reflected light to the CCD image sensor. Since the CCD image sensor is made of semiconductors having the property of converting intensities of lighting into electrical signals, the image of the original document is converted into digital data by use of this property.
