How is full-color representation performed with four color toners?
With screen processing, full-color printing is realized using only four color toners. Screen processing is performed for color tone reproduction not by blending colors such as color paints but by using the number and density of color dots (color lines). The human eyes have the characteristic that the color appears lighter when the density of color dots (color lines) is lower while the color appears darker when the density is higher. By controlling the density of dots for each color of yellow, magenta, cyan and black and combining their color dots (color lines), a full color image is represented.
