Features
Technology
Fujifilm has developed numerous proprietary technologies to create this compact, 4-color print system for high-production rate environments.
Liquid-Cooled Drive Electronics
The 12K Printbar System features liquid-cooling for thermal control in a compact size.
FUJIFILM REDIJET® Ink Circulation
Constant ink circulation in a close loop reduces the occurrence of ink drying within the system, facilitates fast startup, and promotes system uptime without the need for printbar refurbishment.
FUJIFILM SAMBA® Printheads
- Designed for years of reliable uptime
- 1200 DPI for high-image quality
- With 32 rows of nozzles, image quality withstands nozzle loss
Dynamic Fluid Control
The FUJIFILM 12K Printbar System includes a dynamic fluid control system that automatically maintains optimal flow conditions. A system of sensors, actuators, and a control algorithm maintains stable fluid conditions even in the event of a loss of site power because nobody likes to clean up spilled ink. This system also maintains consistent image quality over time even if evaporation from ink occurs.
The evaporation of liquids from ink over time can cause the proportions of ink constituents to change. In other inkjet print systems, this can result in degrading image quality, or the hassle of having to periodically add ink additives, as well as having to determine the right quantity of additives at any given time. But, with the FUJIFILM 12K Printbar System, fluid stability is fully automated for you.
Furthermore, the 12K’s Dynamic Fluid Control system reduces the need for operator intervention for such actions as purging, priming, nozzle cleaning, and control adjustments. This allows equipment operators to focus on other aspects of print production.
Quick and Accurate Color Registration
A highly-engineered, color alignment system is designed into the FUJIFILM 12K Printbar System. In process color printing, accurate color-to-color registration is essential for achieving high-image quality. The 12K’s design incorporates printbar alignment fixtures that are both precise and easily accessible for quick and accurate color registration.
Ergonomics
The FUJIFILM 12K Printbar System was designed with ergonomics in mind. Snap-on, snap-off covers and connectors reduce the need to gather tooling for simple maintenance and adjustments. A single combined cabinet is provided for all fluid and electrical components, efficiently using floor space. This compact design also supports convenient system servicing because everything you need for fluid management is located in one easily accessible cabinet.
Optional Splice Avoidance
We understand that no print production operation will have perfect web splices every time. Mitigating the effects of imperfect splicing helps maintain uninterrupted operations and also provides more design space for optimal add-on print systems. The combination of Fujifilm’s precise printhead technology and fast web repositioning enables high print quality on existing transports equipped with splicing processes.
Reliability
The silicone MEMS design of our FUJIFILM SAMBA® printhead used in the FUJIFILM 12K Printbar System is rated for trillions of actuations for continuous operation.
Each FUJIFILM SAMBA printhead has 1200 DPI and 32 rows of nozzles, which provides not only high-image quality, but also robust image quality over time. Robust image quality can be very advantageous over long print runs. With some technologies, in the event of a lost nozzle, an imperfection is immediately perceptible even in simple types of images such as bar codes and text. The SAMBA 1200 DPI and 32 rows of nozzles per printhead give the FUJIFILM 12K Printbar System enough spot redundancy to be unaffected in the event of potential nozzle loss over time.
Coupled with Fujifilm’s REDIJET® patented ink recirculation system, the 12K Printbar System operates with limited downtime and no need for printhead refurbishment. The compact fluid management system within the 12K Printbar System also delivers printing fluids with consistent quality.
The FUJIFILM 12K Printbar System maintains registration within 0.0082 inch during substrate accelerations exceeding 16 ft/s2.
Optional Splice Avoidance
The FUJIFILM 12K Printbar System’s overlapping drops at 1200 DPI maintain high-image quality even in the event of potential nozzle loss over time.
