- Handling of waste electrical and electronic equipment
The crossed-out bin symbol on the product, its packaging or in the instructions for use, means that the device must not be disposed of as mixed municipal waste and that it was put on the market after August 13, 2005. It is your duty to take it to special collection points of the local municipal service for separate waste collection. You can also give your waste device or appliance to a dealer or distributor directly when you purchase a similar product. By doing so, you fulfill your legal obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
The separate collection and recycling of WEEE prevents the negative consequences of environmental pollution and health hazards that may occur due to improper disposal of the product. It also enables the processing and recovery of material from which the product is made, saving energy and natural resources. If the product you want to throw away is still working, hand it in at one of the recycling centers. This will extend its life and prevent it from prematurely ending up in the waste.
- Handling of waste batteries and accumulators
The crossed-out bin symbol on batteries and accumulators, packaging or in the instructions for use means that batteries and accumulators must not be disposed of as mixed municipal waste. It is your duty to submit them to special collection points of the local municipal service for the separate collection of hazardous waste. You can also take waste batteries and accumulators to a dealer or distributor, without the obligation to buy new ones. By doing so, you fulfill your legal obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
If a chemical symbol is printed below the symbol shown above, it indicates, according to the law, that this battery or accumulator contains a heavy metal (Hg = mercury, Cd = cadmium, Pb = lead) in an excess amount as defined by the law.If the device contains batteries or accumulators that cannot be easily removed without jeopardizing the user's safety, the latter must submit them together with the waste device to the waste electrical and electronic equipment collection system.
