About the impact by the handling of Windows print spooler vulnerability for our products

First of all, we would like to thank you for your patience and continuous patronage towards FUJIFILM Business Innovation (erstwhile Fuji Xerox) products.
In reference to Windows print spooler vulnerability, , Microsoft have been releasing multiple updates since January 2021. However, it seems some of these updates released around August and September are making our products behave differently from the set normal.
Details of impact
- As a measure for PrintNightmare (CVE-2021-34481) which is a Windows print spooler vulnerability, Windows security update program KB5005652 was released from Microsoft on August 2021. On the environment where the update program is applied, administrative privilege passwords get to be required to install newly or upgrade Point and Print (shared printers).
- As a measure for against impersonation vulnerability of Windows print spooler (CVE-2021-1678), Microsoft released another Windows security update program KB4599464 on September 2021. On part of environment where the update program is applied, we found an error occurs when you run printing from client PCs to ApeosWare Management Suite or ApeosWare Management Suite 2 shared printers.
