MISSISSAUGA, Ontario, August 24, 2023 - FUJIFILM Canada Inc. today announced the launch of its newest ultra lightweight wireless long length digital radiography (DR) detector, the FDR D-EVO III G80i. The FDR D-EVO III G80i is Fujifilm’s latest generation long-length detector and holds status as the world's lightest 43x81.3 cm long length detector at approximately 5.2 kg. The FDR D-EVO III G80i weighs at least 40% less than current long length detectors - providing easy maneuvering, more portable uses and transition within the healthcare facility.
"Capturing long-length images could be tedious and time-consuming, as the traditional multi-shot DR rooms typically require three to five exposures followed by manipulation of the images,” said Anne Hixon, product manager of medical imaging, FUJIFILM Canada. “The FDR D-EVO III G80i brings a sophisticated and sleek long-length DR detector to the Canadian market that captures spine and long-bone images in a single shot, which can help make long-length imaging easier for the radiologist and more comfortable for the patient by reducing the need for multiple exposures.”
The multi-specialty use FDR D-EVO III G80i is particularly beneficial for trauma cases and spine procedures, including surgical treatment for scoliosis. Since the detector is very lightweight and interfaces with the FDR Go PLUS portable system, it can more easily be used to accommodate imaging in the ER and the OR. This next generation detector features Fujifilm’s patented Irradiated Side Sampling (ISS) technology and noise reduction circuitry to reduce image granularity and capture high-resolution images at lower doses for patient and staff safety.
To help reduce healthcare associated infections (HAIs), Fujifilm’s exclusive Hydro AG antibacterial coating is embedded on the detector. The antibacterial coating provides a layer of added protection to suppress growth of various types of bacteria, microorganisms and mold on the surfaces, and is 99.99% effective against most common bacteria.
