Fujifilm was established in 1934 with the aim of producing photographic films. Over the decades we have diversified into new markets and built a strong presence in Australia around the globe.

January 1934	Fuji Photo Film Co. Ltd was founded on 20 January 1934 with the view to manufacturing photo film domestically.
February 1934	Operations commenced at the Ashigara Factory for the production of photographic film, printing paper, dryplate, and other photographic sensitive material.
1936	The first FUJIFILM x-ray film was introduced to the market, marking the company's entry into diagnostic medical imaging.
1939	FUJIFILM made an aggressive entrance into the graphic arts materials market by releasing printing-use makeup film.
1958	Fuji marketed FUJITAC film which is currently used in LCDs.
1959	Fuji entered the recording media business after successful tests of proprietary record-and-play videotape. Fuji also expanded its graphic arts business by launching the manufacture of printing plate materials.
1962	Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd was established as a joint venture with Rank Xerox Ltd (now Xerox Ltd) and the document business was born.
1982	FujiFILM receives an Academy Award (the "Oscar") in Technical Merit for the creation of the world's fastest colour motion picture negative film. FujiFILM receives an Emmy Award in Technical Merit for its developments in metal particle tape technology.
1983	Fuji marketed the FCR digital x-ray image diagnostic system, after becoming the first company in the world to successfully digitise an x-ray image.
1986	FujiFILM introduced the world's first single use camera known as QuickSnap.
1987	FujiFILM introduced the world's first 35mm single use camera with a built-in flash.
1988	FujiFILM introduced the world's first digital camera, complete with removable media, known as the DS-1P.
1991	FujiFILM receives the Scientific and Engineering Award for its F-Series of colour negative motion picture film from the National Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
1992	FujiFILM announced its exclusive ATOMM precision thin-layer coating technology (Advanced super Thin-layer and high-Output Metal Media), which has enabled the manufacturer of high density magnetic recording media for the computer industry.
1995	Fuji created the high density digital recording medium DLT tape, IV, incorporating ATOMM technology.
1996	Now a leader in LCD materials, Fuji marketed Wide View (WV) film which widens LCD viewing angles using technology-based FUJITAC. Fuji unveiled the world's first digital minilab, incorporating the latest digital and network technology.
1998	Fuji created the unique 4th Colour Layer Technology for its 35mm Superia and 24mm Nexia film product range. This additional cyan layer helped the film to "see" like the human eye.
1999	Fuji announced the creation of its new Super CCD technology. Fuji developed the Synapse Dry System – a medical imaging network system that enables hospitals and doctors to manage and use diagnostic images more efficiently.
2000	Fuji developed myfujifilm.com and other network solutions that met the expectations of streamlining procedures by closely linking printing companies and their customers during the printing workflow.
2001	Fuji passed a new milestone in its high-density magnetic recording media operations following the development of NANOCUBIC Technology, which allows 1 terabyte of recording on a single cartridge. Consolidation of Fuji Xerox.
January 2003	Fuji announced the development of 4th Generation Super CCD, which offers higher resolution and a wider dynamic range than previous Super CCDs.
March 2003	Fuji launches digital cameras that incorporate its 4th Generation Super CCD.
April 2004	Fujifilm aquires Hanimex Pty Limited and Fujifilm Australia Pty Ltd is created.
2005	Acquired UK-based Sericol Group Limited (currently FUJIFILM Sericol Limited) a company with expanding operations in screen printing inks, packaging printing inks and industrial-use inkjet printer inks.
October 2006	Fuji PhotoFilm Co. Ltd is transformed into a holding company and renamed as FUJIFILM Holdings Corporation. The businesses of Fuji PhotoFilm have been taken over by FUJIFILM Corporation, which is a newly established operating company. Fujifilm's Graphic Systems business in Australia is merged into the FUJFILM Australia Pty Ltd business.
2009	Fujifilm's 75th Anniversary.
May 2009	Fujifilm Sericol's business in Australia is merged into the FUJIFILM Australia Pty Ltd business.
June 2009	FUJIFILM Australia acquires the Prosolv cardiology business in Australia.
October 2009	FUJIFILM Australia adds to its Medical business by acquiring the Australian endoscopy business from Fujinon Australia Pty Ltd.
