The TRILLIUM OVAL Cattleya is a 3T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) featuring innovative technologies to improve the efficiency of MRI examinations such as the open oval bore and imaging techniques to suppress uneven irradiation.
The IP-RAPID technology reduces imaging time and provides higher quality diagnostic images that contribute directly to more efficient and accurate MRI diagnoses.
The novel IP-RAPID technology can reduce imaging time while maintaining image quality.
By repeating undersampling and reconstruction, IP-RAPID can be used at various regions.
In addition, image SNR and spatial resolution can be improved while maintaining the imaging time.
The TRILLIUM OVAL Cattleya has been developed to create a pleasant examination space that is relaxing for patients who are uncomfortable in confined spaces. The shape of the oval bore (74 × 65 cm, width × length), which resembles the shape of a person lying on a patient table, and the 63 cm wide table top allow the patient to relax during the examination and cooperate with the operator thus enabling high-precision imaging.
Large elliptical bores require the generation of high power and high precision inclined magnetic fields. Through proprietary analysis and techniques, Fujifilm has succeeded in developing an elliptically shaped inclined magnetic field coil pattern that extends the inspection space horizontally. The OVAL Patient Bore is the culmination of technologies aimed at reducing the thickness of the inclined magnetic field coils and precisely controlling the magnetic field.
In principle, 3T MRI systems exhibit significant non-uniformity of RF irradiation due to the presence of the human body. RF shimming is performed to compensate for the irradiation non-uniformity. This requires an irradiation coil system that is capable of multi-channel irradiation. The TRILLIUM OVAL Cattleya adopts a 4-channel, 4-port RF irradiation coil system that can be controlled independently.
Minimizing uneven RF irradiation requires an accurate assessment of the irradiation state and the acquisition of intensity distributions. With multi-channel irradiation, it can take time to acquire distribution data for each channel. The TRILLIUM OVAL Cattleya adopts a fast and efficient RF distribution and data acquisition sequence developed by Fujifilm. Based on the distribution, the four channels are independently and adjusted to improve uneven irradiation.
The patient table can be attached to and detached from the gantry allowing the patient to be set outside the examination room thereby reducing the risk of bringing metals into the room. The patient table can also be connected via an oblique approach toward the gantry. The 63 cm wide table top extended to fit the large oval gantry bore can be lowered electrically to a minimum height of 50 cm, even when detached, reducing the burden on small children and elderly people when getting on and off the patient table.
The gantry is equipped with a WIT Monitor that displays patient information. Pulse wave, ECG, and respiratory waveforms can be checked on the spot. The weight, which is important for SAR calculations, can be changed using a switch on the gantry control panel.
The TRILLIUM OVAL Cattleya has been developed the Head Coil 32 to dramatically increase the number of multi-channels in the head receiver coil. This increases the rapid factor of the IP-RAPID technology. Combined with high sensitivity reception, thanks to a smaller element and improved sensitivity with coil shape, it is particularly useful to achieve high speed and high-resolution imaging. The uniformity of reception has been improved by the NATURAL uniformity correction technology.
The TRILLIUM OVAL Cattleya is equipped with a spine coil for highly sensitive reception and improved workflow. The spine coil fits inside the table top and can be easily attached and detached from the top board without cables. For abdominal imaging, more sensitive imaging is possible by combining with the torso coil.
