Fujifilm Launches Mobile Health Screening Center “NURA Express” in India

Further expanding health screening services to contribute to the early detection of cancer and lifestyle diseases

TOKYO, March 18, 2025 – FUJIFILM Corporation announces the launch of the “NURA Express” mobile health screening center using bus in Kozhikode, Kerala, India, starting this month. This marks an expansion of Fujifilm’s health screening service business in emerging countries.

Fujifilm has been expanding the “NURA” health screening centers primarily in urban areas across several countries, including India, to build an environment where more people can access high-quality health screening services. The newly introduced mobile health screening center NURA Express provides corporate health screenings, in collaboration with local companies. The NURA Express will travel to the designated locations and times offering cancer screenings and lifestyle disease testing services through on-site CT scans for employees working in their offices and factories. The images captured in NURA Express will then be remotely interpreted by physicians stationed at the “NURA Global Innovation Center*1” in Kozhikode, Kerala. The captured images and analyzed test results will be provided through a dedicated smartphone app.
In the future, Fujifilm aims to partner with local governments to establish a system through which NURA Express can provide municipal health screenings to residents in remote areas. This initiative will contribute to the early detection of cancer and lifestyle diseases for a larger number of people.

In the world, cancer and lifestyle diseases such as ischemic heart disease, are among the leading causes of death*2. Health screening can not only be expected to detect these diseases at an early stage and take measures such as treatment and health guidance to reduce mortality and the risk of serious illness, but it can also lead to illness prevention by providing a better understanding of the state of the body. However, in emerging countries, there are few facilities that provide health screening services, and the culture of undergoing health screening has not yet taken root.

Fujifilm will continue to expand the number of health screening centers which uses Fujifilm’s medical devices and medical IT system based on AI technology that are designed to support doctors, and provide high-quality services to an increasing number of people, thereby contributing to advancement of global health.

About “NURA” health screening center operated by Fujifilm

In 2021, Fujifilm opened its first NURA health screening center in Bengaluru, India and started its health screening service business in emerging countries. Since then, “NURA” health screening centers, as well as those incorporating the expertise of “NURA,” have expanded beyond India to Mongolia, Vietnam, and the United Arab Emirates. Fujifilm's health screening center is equipped with its medical devices including CT scan and mammography system, as well as medical IT system based on AI technology designed to support doctors conduct screening and tests for cancer and lifestyle diseases. The service has been well received by users, thanks to the convenience of being able to complete all checks and receive feedback on the results in just about 120 minutes. Another point that has been highly acclaimed is that users are able to hear the results from a doctor while viewing the actual diagnostic images. This time, as the tenth of health screening centers, which utilize Fujifilm’s medical devices and AI technology to support physicians' diagnoses, Fujifilm has launched the new mobile health screening center “NURA Express,” expanding its business. Moving forward, Fujifilm will continue to create an environment where more people can access health screening services.
