Other Types of Photo Prints

Dye Sublimation Photos

Prints created using heat, such as those from self-service kiosks and marked with “Fujifilm Quality Thermal Photo Paper” on the back.

  1. First, let the photos dry on a clean, flat surface.

  2. Next, gently wipe the surface with damp, clean towel.

  3. If prints are stuck together, there is no need to soak them in water as they can easily be peeled apart if dried.

Dye-Type Inkjet Photos

Prints using dye that penetrate into the paper surface and preserve the surface characteristics of the paper.

  1. If prints are dry and separate, use a soft brush to clean the surface.

  2. There is no need to soak them in water if there is not much dirt.

  3. If there is a lot of dirt, soak them quickly in room temperature water, and work quickly.

  4. If they are stuck together, they should peel away after being soaked for about a minute, so be sure to quickly remove them from the water.

  5. If you leave them to soak too long or forcefully scratch the image surface, the dye ink (color) will come away, and the color tends to fade or become blurred.

  6. If soaked in water, dry in the shade. The conditions may vary depending on the type of dye ink.

Pigment-Type Inkjet Photos

Prints using tiny particles of colorant that rest on the surface of the paper.

  1. If prints are dry and separate, use a soft brush to clean the surface.

  2. If there is heavy dirt covering the photo, soak in water and lightly wipe it away with your finger or a soft brush.

  3. If the prints are stuck together, they should peel away after soaking for around one minute.

  4. Do not try to force the photos apart because the image surface ink may peel away.

  5. After soaking in water, dry in the shade. The conditions may vary depending on the type of pigment ink.
