Functional Molecule Technologies

Technology to provide various functions depending on the purpose through free transformation of molecular structures

Total control over color

Color material

Control the light absorption/emission by molecular structure and molecular state

  • Design of molecules with desired absorption wavelength

  • Converts absorbed light into new light, heat and active substances etc.

  • Color changes through light, heat, pressure etc.

Example of Molecular Design for Dyes with Strong Color Replicability
Color reproduction calculation and measurement values
In order to design compounds that can provide the desired color, we first extract candidates from compound libraries and previous knowledge, and then utilize computational chemistry simulations to select promising frameworks. Finally, we commercialize the optimal compounds through actual verification.
Achieving goals through control over the presence of molecules, as well as designing and synthesizing molecular structures.
Inkjet ink
In order to provide desired color, we can control the presence of molecular such as by aggregating dye molecules.

Total control over light

Liquid Crystal material

Control the light property by molecular alignment.

  • Special molecular structures create targeted alignment and enables unique optical designs.

Orientation control on a molecular level
WV Film
WV films are films that coat their unique discotic liquid crystals on a support film to create target orientation, which results in an expanded viewing angle effect for liquid crystal displays.
