Prescale for High Temperature LLW - FAQ

NEW
Frequently asked questions regarding Prescale Questions before purchase
A.

Prescale for High Temperature is suitable for use under high-temperature conditions, with a recommended heating temperature of 180 to 220°C, applied to both sides. When regular Prescale is used under high-temperature conditions, issues such as color development in areas not subject to pressure, base deformation and adhesion between the A and C films may occur. With Prescale for High Temperature, these effects are significantly reduced.

A.

The A film has a thickness of 60±10μm and the C film has a thickness of 65±10μm.

A.

This product is sold in 270 mm x 6 m rolls and cannot be purchased in sheets.

A.

Custom sizes are not available at this time.

A.
  • As the films are coated with chemicals, they will not work if they come into contact with solvents such as water or alcohol.
  • Prescale is designed to have pressure applied directly from above. It will not work using other methods, such as by rubbing the film along the surface you want to measure.
A.

No, the sheets cannot be used repeatedly.

A.

We can provide 100 m x 130 mm sample products. Contact us through our inquiry page to request a sample.

A.

The Pressure Distribution Mapping System is not currently compatible with Prescale for High Temperature LLW. Future development is planned and an announcement regarding any confirmed release will be made as information becomes available.

How to use Prescale
A.

Prescale can be cut with scissors. When cutting the A film, care must be taken to avoid bursting the microcapsules in the pressure measurement section. Bursting microcapsules may result in uneven coloring during measurement.

A.

Heat applied to the microcapsules in the film may affect color development. For this reason, it is recommended that you place the C film on the lower side and the A film on the upper side, in accordance with Fujifilm's evaluation conditions.

A.

Heat applied to the microcapsules in the film may affect color development. For this reason, it is recommended that you set the product in place before pressure is applied.

A.

The recommended temperature is 180°C to 220°C (heat applied to both sides). If the temperature is below the recommended range, the color density will be lower. If the temperature is above the recommended range, the color density will be higher. In addition, temperatures above the recommended range may cause the base to deform, or the film coating to peel off when the A film and C film are peeled off after measurement.

A.

Color development in the film is affected by the heat applied to the film. For this reason, the temperature of the heated press section affects the product.

A.

If color can be developed, pressure distribution can be checked based on the color density. However, the correspondence between color density and pressure values may differ from the curves on the standard chart.

A.

The accuracy of pressure level measurement will be reduced when the product is used under conditions other than the recommended conditions. However, it may still be possible to use the film to measure pressure distribution. If the temperature is below the recommended range, the color density will be lower. If the temperature is above the recommended range, the color density will be higher, the base may deform, color may develop as a result of heat exposure and the film coating may peel off when the A film and C film are peeled off after measurement.
Prolonged pressure application will cause the color density to increase.

A.

The accuracy of obtained pressure values cannot be guaranteed when the pressure application conditions differ from those on the standard chart. In such cases, the sheet should be used to measure pressure distribution. In order to use the standard chart as a reference, conditions matching or similar to those described in the manual must be used.

A.

The expiration date is printed on the label on the product box. The quality of Prescale products that have passed their expiration date cannot be guaranteed. Please be sure to use your product before it expires. Storing the product in a cool, dark place to reduce changes in performance over time is recommended.

A.

As the color loses density, the product may no longer perform as normal and results cannot be guaranteed. Purchasing a new Prescale product is recommended.

A.

Return both the A film and C film to their original bags, put them in the box, and store them in a cool, dark place. Storing the product in a well-lit place for prolonged periods or in a place exposed to sunlight will cause the background of the product to become discolored and the color density to decrease. This will cause results to differ from the product's standard performance.

Troubleshooting
A.

Check that the temperature and pressure are within the product's recommended range. Certain heat and pressure conditions may cause the correspondence between the color density and pressure to differ from that shown in the standard chart.

A.

Unfortunately, the chart with the color samples is only provided in the user's manual provided with the product. The user's manual is not sold separately. Please purchase a new Prescale product.
