Cycling ambassador
Fujifilm tries to encourage cycling for commuting in many ways. For several years now Fujifilm has been an active bicycle ambassador, an initiative of the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Environment. Fujifilm not only wants to encourage commuting by bicycle, but also to make extensive use of bicycles in the field. The Fujifilm site is 63 hectares. To move from one building to another, employees use the bicycle. In order to make this as easy as possible, the Greenbikes project was started, with the main aim of unburdening the personnel.
Greenbikes
Fujifilm Greenbikes is a bicycle plan whereby about 150 general bicycles are made available without a lock and are therefore not person or department related. A Greenbike can be used by anyone to travel anywhere on the premises. Until now, almost every department had one or more bikes, many of which were hardly used. This is a shame, and that is why we have now started the green bike plan.
The company bicycles that are still good will be refurbished, the lock will be removed, a quick-release saddle will be fitted and the bicycles will be provided with a crate to transport items safely. The bicycles will also be provided with a clear "Greenbikes" logo.
The maintenance of the bicycles is carried out by La Poubelle, a foundation that helps people who are distanced from the labour market. In this way, Fujifilm also contributes to corporate social responsibility.
