Fujifilm has recently discovered that the initial production of FUJIFILM LTO Ultrium-9 (LTO-9) tape cartridges manufactured between July 26, 2021, and November 25, 2021, have a potential risk of fatigue failure of the tape reel (i.e., winding core) under repeated use and under certain environmental conditions. While this potential failure has not been reported in any actual data storage setting, out of an abundance of caution, we are initiating a replacement action for the subject cartridges. (See the picture below to identify the subject cartridge.)
Fujifilm is working directly with its LTO-9 customers to ensure that affected cartridges are discontinued from use and will replace them with new LTO-9 tape cartridges, free of charge, in accordance with our Limited Lifetime Warranty. For return and replacement, please contact:
